It’s “the best gala of the year.” An arts-lover’s fantasy. More than 680 performers from 60 local performing arts groups on over a dozen stages — all under one roof.

It’s the third annual BRAVO San Diego, a giddy, festive commingling of our local civic, business and arts communities. More than 1100 guests are expected to attend the elegant event, housed throughout the Westgate Hotel, with food and drink from San Diego’s best restaurants, distillers and chefs, and performances on every floor — in salons, ballrooms, terraces and cabarets. There’s social dancing and socializing, exhibits from museums and galleries, and performances by groups you love and some you’ve probably never seen: from Mostly Mozart to the Super Sonic Samba School, from the Globe Theatres to TheatreSports, from La Jolla Playhouse to the Creative History Centre of Performing Arts, from Malashock Dance to El Mundo Del Tango, from the Gay Men’s Chorus to the Small Opera of San Diego, from the Balboa Park Puppet Guild to the Cambodian Dancers of San Diego. There’s definitely something for anyone. And presiding over it all is the celebrity Master of Ceremonies, Jung-Ho Pak, outgoing artistic director of the San Diego Symphony.

It’s all for a good time — and a good cause. Proceeds benefit the San Diego Performing Arts League’s Arts and Business Programs, including Business Volunteers for the Arts, Technology for the Arts, and Lawyers for the Arts. Sample the food, sample the arts and support your community.
